It was a good summer. One event that remained very memorable was the 1st EDELWEISS ADVENTURE Influencer Day by EDELWEISS ADVENTURE near Wiener Neustadt. Today, we want to review our experiences. The entire event naturally took place under the then valid Corona rules, which everyone strictly adhered to.
Since some of the invited guests came from Germany, there was a small evening event in a nearby steakhouse the night before. What happens when influencers meet? It's usually very entertaining, especially the two gentlemen in the picture provided a lot of humor: Ripperkon and Stefan from Sapiens Para Bellum.
The next morning, the actual 1st EDELWEISS ADVENTURE Influencer Day began. First, there was shooting planned for the influencers so that they could get an idea of everything that is done and learned at EDELWEISS ADVENTURE. Safety first, so everyone lined up and listened to the commands.
The first exercise was five shots from the lying position to become aware of the offset of the sight on short distances.
Conclusion of the first exercise, the direction was generally correct. Everyone listened attentively to the evaluation and comments from Heinz.
Full concentration while explaining the next exercise. This time it continued with the pistol.
When five to six people shoot simultaneously in two waves, a lot of casings come together. Danielle Valkyrie in the foreground at work.
Then there were various exercises that became more complex and difficult. Shooting was also done from all possible positions, and a weapon change was always included.
We were especially pleased to meet our old friend SCAAR in person again. He is always a guarantee for very exotic weapons with an even more exotic paint job. When do you ever see a fully equipped H&K MK23 combined with an FN P90.
The last two drills were tough. Multiple targets, weapon changes, and shooting on the move. Before anyone asks, yes, in Austria civilians are allowed to shoot at such targets. This always surprises and shocks our German colleagues.
The last exercise took place in special, poor lighting conditions. The room was darkened and the lights were blinking differently. I then reached my limit a bit here, as I shot the exercise somewhat differently than was previously instructed. Stress and unfamiliar lighting conditions can have quite an impact.
After the morning, there was time for a small lunch and some really nice professional talks among all participants. It's always interesting to hear what others do or have experienced. A big topic was the new regulation regarding magazine sizes in the EU and specifically in Austria. The various authorities are not yet completely consistent in their approach to who can buy what.
In the afternoon, the doors were opened to visitors. Everyone set up a small booth and could present some of their gear. We had many good and interesting conversations with visitors, whether about equipment, laws, or just casual topics. It was really nice to meet face to face with our readers.
It also gave many the opportunity to admire some lesser-known gear.
Of course, there were also patches and stickers exchanged, and those interested could also get autographs from their favorite influencers - here's Amy 9×19. A lot has happened since then: Amy and Heinz with HESA have parted ways with Edelweiss Adventure. We are sad to hear that, but it also has positive aspects. There can never be enough opportunities for training...
All participants were able to have good conversations, which everyone really enjoyed. The atmosphere was cheerful, as everyone had very similar interests. Our thanks go to the team at EDELWEISS ADVENTURE for making this event possible at the time. We are looking forward to the next time.
