Probably British soldiers brought the cummerbund fashion from India to Europe during the time of British colonial rule: because of the tropical climate, officers found the waistcoat under the jacket too warm. As a replacement, they adopted the Indian custom of wearing a belly band made of fine fabrics, the so-called kamarband. From the Persian kamarband (= "hip belt"), the phonetically still common English word cummerbund (also cumberbund) emerged.
And the German word "Kummer" has nothing to do with the band that can also be found on plate carriers, to conclude this brief cultural history. TASMANIAN TIGER at least provides you with a secret Cummerbund that you can wear in such a way that no one sees it. That's why we've opened our jacket at the top.
It's hard to imagine this piece on a man. That's why it's laid out here - emptied. It's a universal underbelt for undercover operations. The TT Secret Cummerbund is equipped with Velcro areas for individual loading and has elastic insert pockets. It is closed with Velcro and can be adjusted in width via a bungee cord system, according to the manufacturer. Here are the details:
What we placed on top, we have now stored in the Secret Cummerbund. It is made entirely of stretch fabric and is extremely flexible in terms of capacity. So put it on.
It is opened and closed with a Velcro closure at the front.
First comes a narrow compartment where we have placed a multitool. Next to it, a larger one in which we have inserted an IWB holster made of Kydex.
In this case, we have turned the concealed equipment belt into a weapon and ammunition carrier. It works, even though the weapon sits quite high here, but with a little practice, drawing is no problem.
Behind it are two compartments where we have stored parts of the IFAK for first aid.
On the left side, there is first a handy spare magazine for the pistol, then twice an AR15 magazine.
We haven't filled the compartments behind, but we have used the outer Velcro area to attach a double pistol magazine holder externally.
From behind, the Secret Cummerbund looks like a corset. This makes it super adjustable in size. The downside compared to other models is that you can't store anything in the back. But it doesn't have to be full Gaul. With the space in the back, it's comfortable to sit even in the car.
Worn under a slightly looser jacket, almost nothing is noticeable.
Well, a little belly. But everyone has that...
...when the jacket is open, the cause of the belly can be quickly revealed.
The Secret Cummerbund itself does not add any bulk, especially because the stretch fabric provides a tight contour.
CONCLUSION: An extremely practical piece of equipment, even if you are not undercover detectives and do not have a license to carry a concealed weapon. For them, the secret underlayer is also great, but even civilians can use it for various purposes: take snacks to the movies, bring sex toys to the party, carry lots of Snickers all day. If you think about it, you will surely come up with many more possibilities for
