Even when summer is really starting, it may still be that your forest always needs a jacket. For those who spend a lot of time outdoors, of course, want a sturdy model that also protects against insects. This is where the TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK from PINEWOOD comes into play, which is also ideal for bushcrafters and other forest spirits. We took a look at it.
The TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK is a pull-over jacket with a hood made from a cotton blend with 64% polyester, 34% cotton, and 2% elastane. The material is factory-impregnated and therefore also repels some rain. However, it is not a rain jacket.
Once put on, the TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK is quick, at least as long as you don't forget to unzip the collar.
Almost inside. Somehow we managed to completely "mix up" the anorak while putting it on. A basic problem of pull-over jackets that you have to present correctly.
This is what the correctly worn TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK looks like. This jacket is cut very long, down to mid-thigh, which is very advantageous in bad weather. We also find the belt loops for your bushcraft belt exciting.
The collar can be opened with a zip for ventilation down to the middle of the chest.
The collar is very high and the hood is sewn on independently of the collar. The hood is tightened with the drawstring.
The hood can be easily folded down if you are not using it.
At the front, you will find a spacious kangaroo pocket with a zipper and snap button closure. You do not necessarily need to open the snap buttons to access the contents.
The TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK also offers you two side zippered openings into the kangaroo pocket. Quite practical to use.
Inside, you have a small compartment where, among other things, the smartphone feels very well stored.
Long side zippers provide additional ventilation and make it easier to put on and take off. An underestimated feature that also grants access to the pants pockets.
At waist level inside, you can tighten the TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK.
We also recommend this, because then the anorak no longer hangs on the body like a sack. On the topic of style, if you put a few things in the front pocket, it inevitably looks like you have a huge belly. We just want to warn you about mocking comments. On the flip side: the belly drawer as a workspace where everything is readily available is unbeatable.
The hood offers a stiffened visor. We like that.
At the back, the hood can be adjusted perfectly to the head with an elastic band. In case anyone is wondering, no, a helmet does not fit underneath, as it is a civilian jacket.
Now for the special feature of the TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK. The hood is zippered all around. What could that be good for?
Here you can zip in the included insect net. A very practical solution, because the little pests can be extremely annoying in certain places. And in the forest or by the water, one definitely wants peace from them.
Inserting the insect mesh can be a bit tricky. Additionally, the net is secured with a snap button.
Once you have threaded it through, you just have to zip up the hood. That's not a problem.
This is what the fully installed insect protection screen looks like on the TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK. The very fine mesh does not impair your vision and you are very well protected from mosquitoes. It also has a useful camouflage effect for yourself.
Collecting wood near the river becomes almost effortless for you.
CONCLUSION: A jacket from the far north that is perfect for the local environment. In Sweden, as is well known, one is plagued by mosquitoes in the summer, and the TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK really helps here. The jacket is solidly made and always in the backpack from spring to autumn when heading out into nature. Thanks to the impregnation, the anorak also protects you in light rain. By the way, the impregnation can be reactivated by ironing (at medium temperature) after washing.
The TIKAANI TC STRETCH ANORAK is available at ASMC for 139.99 euros in Olive
