Gaston Glock is dead

12/27/2023By Redaktion

The sad news of Gaston Glock's death at the age of 94 is still fresh: When thinking about Gaston Glock's death, it is extremely difficult to underestimate the influence he had on firearms – an influence that easily places him among the giants of this industry and firearm designers such as Samuel Colt, John Browning, Horace Smith and Daniel Wesson, and Mikhail Kalashnikov. HERE is the first obituary on the GLOCK Perfection website.

Glock, a trained plastics technician, became known for his firearms company, which he founded in 1963 in Deutsch-Wagram, Lower Austria. The company now has branches worldwide, including a plant in the USA. According to media reports, up to 80 percent of police officers in the USA are equipped with GLOCK pistols.

"With visionary foresight, Gaston Glock built his company and led it to the top of the world with the internationally renowned GLOCK Perfection. Until the end, he was responsible for the strategic direction of the GLOCK corporate group and its employees," the statement said.

Glock "took foresighted care for the continuation and stability of the company," the company further writes. "Ing. Gaston Glock's life's work will continue to be carried out in his spirit." No further inquiries will be answered.

Last year, the pistol producer GLOCK generated nearly 830 million euros in revenue and made a profit of just over 146 million euros. The company employs around 2,500 people and supplies, among others, the Austrian Armed Forces and the armies of France and the United Kingdom. In the USA, GLOCK pistols are the most commonly sold pistols to private individuals.
