There is a lot of fitness equipment available on the free market, but not everything is useful. When we first saw the handles from Angles90, we had mixed feelings. On one hand, such handles make sense for pull-ups, on the other hand, how much benefit do they really provide? So we simply got them to find out.
Here the Angles90, not to be confused with "Angels," are hanging on the pull-up bar in the gym. They are simple in design and consist of an orange handle with a securely sewn strap loop. The handles themselves are anatomically shaped and fit well in the hand.
This is what the manufacturer says about the components and functions of the handles.
The installation is simple. Loop around the bar or handle and thread the Angles90 handle through, done. The instruction video from Angles90 explains the different possibilities well.
Even in our "Office-Gym," the Angles90 feel at home. The handles can be used on bars with a diameter of up to 5 cm, so they should cover all common pull-up and barbell bars.
So let's go to the device and off we go. Here you can see how the Angles90 should be gripped. The middle finger should rest between the loop. Pay attention to the hand positioning.
A little pull and we're almost there, well, the door frame was in the way. Usually we do pull-ups facing the other way, but never mind. You can see that the hand positioning is rotated 90° compared to the bar grip, hence the name.
This more natural, neutral grip position feels more comfortable, and we managed to do two more pull-ups in a row than usual. The grip feeling is a bit strange at the beginning, but you quickly get used to it. Training tip for the door frame: every time you go through, do a pull-up. This will make you fit.
Earlier we mentioned the barbell bar. The Angles90 can also be used without any problems for deadlifting or transporting heavy loads. Ammunition containers, such as the SCEPTER C131A1 double containers for 120mm Mortar from 365+, have the peculiar feature of having extremely uncomfortable, cutting handles. With the Angles90, this is no longer a problem.
Grenades can be quite interesting in terms of sports.
One possible variation is shortening the strap. This can be done with the two side slots in the handles. If the strap of the Angles90 is too long, you can quickly and effectively shorten it by about 5 cm by wrapping it around. This way, your hand is closer to the bar.
Barbell rows with explosives - in this case two 120mm grenades totaling 40 kilograms - make fitness fun. Thanks to the Angles90, training with this munitions container is much more comfortable.
Pay attention to the right hand: overhand grip parallel to the device.
