The sale of the revamped generation of the P40, their original tactical bestseller pants, starts at the end of August. "We have taken the best features of the original P-40 design and construction and expanded them with various improvements that we believe will persuade our customers to switch from old to new," says Armin Wagner, Head of UF PRO Product Development - HERE with us in the interview.

One advantage that helped the original P-40 gain its massive fan base was its excellent wearing comfort - according to Wagner, this feature is now transferred to the new P-40 Classic Gen.2. The redesign introduces a series of additional innovative features that Armin is convinced will prove to be a crowd pleaser. They include:

Extended lifespan

Wagner says, "The seams of the P-40 Classic Gen.2 were made with an overlap technique that reduces the number of so-called critical points - areas where the pants could potentially get caught on a sharp object. With fewer areas that can be damaged, the risk of the pants tearing has been minimized. This technique is overall suitable for a structurally more durable design."

Improved pocket design

In addition to the large thigh pocket, the pants feature six more highly functional pockets with ample storage space. The large side pockets have special elastic inner compartments to allow for secure storage of personal equipment and compact tools. "We have reinforced the pockets on the inside of the side pockets with schoeller®-dynamic stretch material," says Wagner. "This prevents stored items from shifting when the wearer moves. At the same time, the overall wearing comfort of the pants improves by preventing weight transfer of stored items. Essentially, wearers don't have to worry about items slipping out and getting lost."

Redesigned fit

The shape of the P-40 Classic Gen.2 has been changed from the original to incorporate larger schoeller®-dynamic stretch inserts in the buttocks area. "This fabric brand has a well-deserved reputation for maintaining its elasticity for an amazingly long time," adds Armin Wagner. "We aimed to improve the anatomical fit while significantly enhancing freedom of movement through the garment."

Improved knee area

The redesigned fit includes pockets at the knees to allow for easy insertion of knee pads and additional protective padding or both, explains Armin Wagner. "The fit ensures that the inserted knee pads stay in the right place to protect the wearer's knees without being intrusive," he says. "This eliminates the need to readjust the pads or even secure them with straps. The pants have been designed to be compatible with our UF PRO 3D Tactical Knee Pads, allowing the wearer to choose whether they want protection from impact or additional cushioning when kneeling. Furthermore, they have the option to upgrade with our removable Solid Pads to also protect against punctures from sharp objects."

Outstanding wearing comfort

UF PRO assures us that the newly designed classic tactical pants made of high-quality, breathable ripstop material will prove to be remarkably comfortable. Armin Wagner comments: "Wearers can easily enhance the comfort of these pants by attaching a WINDSTOPPER liner with a zipper that provides warmth in cold weather. The inner lining is effective even in sub-zero temperatures. For this reason, we consider the comfort that this second-generation garment offers to be first-class."

The P-40 Gen.2 Tactical Pants will officially go on sale at the end of August and will cost 139 Euros. The pants are available in the following colors: Kangaroo, Black, Navy Blue, and Brown Grey.
