B&T sues SUREFIRE

06/05/2025By Max

Sometimes things have to be settled in court. B&T USA, along with its Swiss parent company B&T AG, has filed a federal lawsuit against SUREFIRE, accusing the California-based company of using a questionable patent to threaten B&T and its customers.

To sum up the suit, SUREFIRE knew B&T had invented and sold its Rotex quick-detach suppressor system years before SUREFIRE ever filed for the patent. B&T was even selling it to the U.S. Navy.

Now, B&T is asking the court to declare SUREFIRE’s patent invalid, and claims SUREFIRE broke a prior agreement by launching a legal campaign that’s already hurt B&T’s business and its customer relationships. According to B&T, they tried to resolve things quietly, but SUREFIRE’s recent actions left them no choice but to fight back in court. If you are interested in all the details, the case number is: 8:25-cv-01408. Let's see how this ends.
