Tactical tip: Build yourself backpack inserts

06/15/2017By Redaktion

A backpack where you just throw everything in loosely is not necessarily bad, but also not quite optimal when something needs to be quickly at hand. Or when the backpack is switched, from tactical to civilian. The compartment layout is different and therefore everything is in a different place again. Sometimes a tacti-cool backpack is simply too conspicuous, even though it would otherwise be perfect.A small remedy for these problems are backpack inserts. These are essentially panels with MOLLE loops attached - or now: modern laser-cut laminate and tons of Velcro area - which can be equipped according to individual needs. The great advantage is that such inserts fit easily into (almost) any backpack, allowing the user to always find their items in the same place, no matter which backpack is currently being used.By the way, the model in the picture comes from 5.11 Tactical. But Helikon-Tex is set to release an insert this year, and Tasmanian Tiger already has more options. For the pouches, we opted for classic accessory pouches on the front and Blue Force Gear Tenspeed Mag-Pouches on the back.

With such inserts, a completely harmless looking, colorful daypack can become a full-fledged medic backpack or BOB (Bug Out Bag). And that is in line with the idea of the "Gray Man": be prepared - but also inconspicuous!
