Whether camping in the woods, in the car, or in a group shelter, light is usually needed to find your way around. Flashlights are okay, but sometimes you might want to have your hands free and have a light fixed in place. Klymit now offers the Everglow Lighttubes, which elegantly and compactly solve this problem.
The Everglow Lighttubes are definitely compact. In the picture you can see the Large version. This comes with this small packing sack.
Here you can see the Everglow Light Tube freed from the transport container. Doesn't look like much. A white cable with a USB plug, and plastic.
Klymit makes inflatable products and this light is no exception. Simply unroll and inflate through the valve. You now have an elongated air sausage with a diameter of approximately 5cm and a length of 44 cm for the small Regular version and 66 cm for the medium Large version.
There is also an X-Large version with a length of 86 cm, which was not available to us. In the end, it is just longer. It has the same features as the Everglow Light Tube in Large.
But what are the features? First, you can inflate the tubes and roll them up very compactly for transport. All three sizes have a carabiner loop in the middle for hanging.
The Large and X-Large versions also have magnets integrated. This is very practical when using it in the car. Whether inside or outside. In the picture, you can see the Large version with the magnets attached in the trunk, and lying below, the Regular version.
Another feature is that the Everglow Lighttubes need to be connected to a power source via USB. This is also their disadvantage. You always need to bring a power bank, or like us, extra battery compartments. The battery compartments for three AA or AAA batteries can be found cheaply online.
You can dim the Large and X-Large versions. There are a total of six levels available. In the picture, you can see the brightest level compared to the darkest.
You can also see the difference between the brightness levels in our video.
The operation of the dimmer switch is self-explanatory.
The cable length of the Regular Everglow Light Tube is around 36 cm and for the Large version it is approximately 45 cm. In use, this has proven to be sufficient.
If you no longer need it, simply open the valve and roll it up. The light is then ready to be stored.
To give you light, you don't necessarily have to inflate the Everglow Light Tube. They also work wonderfully when rolled up or not inflated. The LED strip is then clearly visible and the light is slightly harsher and less diffused.
CONCLUSION: A light-giving companion whether in the car, in the tent, or elsewhere. It would be nice if the Regular Everglow Light Tube also had a dimmer switch and magnets. We prefer the size of this one the best, but the Large variant is only slightly larger. Unfortunately, they are not waterproof due to the USB plug, but still, they are now always packed along with the battery compartment in the backpack.
The Everglow Light Tubes are available from 29.95 euros directly at Klymit.de and at all retailers carrying Klymit.
