The Blooper on steroids

U.S. troops in Vietnam nicknamed the M79 Grenade Launcher "the blooper" because of its distinctive sound when fired. The RHEINMETALL Squad Support Weapon 40 (SSW40) is not your grandfather's grenade launcher, this is a shoulder-fired grenade launcher on steroids. Selected media representatives were lucky enough to get their hands on one, and get some trigger time with it, recently when RHEINMETALL conducted the first firing test for the trade media at its test center in Unterlüß. As you can see in the video, the feeling was that “The result was convincing!” We agree - and we have our own former M203 Grenadier on staff who looks forward to having a bang with the SSW40 sometime too.
