REVIEW: Multitasker TWIST AR15 Tool

This is the tool you need if you have an AR15 system. Granted, there are extensive tool kits for the device, but here everything is broken down to the essentials. The TWIST from Multitasker Tools is small and handy, yet it has a lot to offer.

What looks like a pen on top is nicely explained on the packaging. To give you an idea:

– End cap with Aimpoint adjustment tool
– Pocket clip serves as a light slotted screwdriver
– 8/32" thread adapter
– Robust hook tool
– 3/32" punch driver
– Radial carbon scraper
– Adjustment tool for M16A2 typical sights with magnetic 1/4" bit holder
– 10-piece 1/4" bit set (3/16" slotted, 3/32" slotted, Cross No.1, T15 Torx, T10 Torx, 3/16" / 9/64" / 1/8" / 7/64" / 3/32" hex)

Removing the white cover, the owner is presented with this package. The box has a magnetic closure, simply fold one of the long narrow sides back and you have access to the TWIST.

The contents of the box consist simply of the TWIST and a set of bits. Yes, they are in inches. This is practical for real American AR15 systems.

Just to be sure: here's a comparison with a regular pen. The size of the TWIST is as impressive as its features. You can carry it in your jacket or your gun bag. It can even serve as a Kubaton if someone means you harm. And if you're bored, you can spin it through your fingers. When playing with it, you'll notice: The TWIST is finely crafted from T6061 aluminum CNC machined, its velvety surface is anodized to Type III Mil-Spec Standard.

With the two small pins on the outside of the TWIST, you have the first tool to conveniently adjust Aimpoint and similar optics.

For everything else, you need to look at the inner workings of the TWIST, which can be twisted into three parts. The clip on the labeled cap on the right is an improvised slotted screwdriver. The middle part holds the tools and is designed, like the other end cap, to hold tools.

The middle section holds the included bits. In the center lies the special tool, previously attached, an adjustment tool for M16A2 typical sights. It should be noted that these front sights are becoming rarer, as AR15 "free-floating" systems are becoming more popular, where normal BUIS are screwed onto the free-floating rail.

In the middle section, three different useful tools are at hand: a robust hook tool, a 3/32" punch driver, and a radial carbon scraper.

And this is what they look like unpacked.

The three tools can be screwed into the TWIST with their 1/32" thread adapter, giving the shooter a handy tool. If the dentist comes to mind here, it's not entirely wrong, but the "Dental Pick" serves the weapon here.

Powder residues in the gun can be hell. With the hook tool, you can effectively scrape anywhere, like the dentist with you, ...

... and with the radial carbon scraper, you can efficiently scrape.
