Tactical Honk

What on earth is this? The first of April is over, we thought, as we opened the package. Inside, a real-life April Fool's joke from GERMAN TACTICAL SYSTEMS - the Tactical Honk. Of course, we couldn't resist taking a closer look at this piece in a review. 

The packaging looks standard at first glance, but what's not standard are the numerous phrases included that triggered a true laugh fest for us. Phrases like "Honk first. Ask questions later" are right there below the product name. "Silly Goose certified", "May Summon angry geese. Tactical use only. Not responsible for injuries caused by unexpected goose retaliation." "The only Picatinny-mounted goose-call designed for psychological warfare, tactical misdirection, and extreme honking supremacy." These can be found. Creativity and humor have been given free rein, and we like that.

But now to the actual horn. Dominantly tactical black, it comes with a 3D printed Picatinny adapter. Press it once, and it honks, and not too quietly. We were startled a bit and looked around to see if a goose was approaching. 

By using a hex screw, the adapter can be opened. Two metal pins additionally ensure stability.

Important - Tighten with care! This becomes evident during installation, as it could quickly be over otherwise. The horn was quickly mounted, and we could get started. 

We use a suppressor when we need to operate quietly. But now, if necessary, we can up our goose game with the tactical horn to spread fear and terror. 

CONCLUSION: The tactical horn from German Tactical System is a true nightmare come true. Sure, it might be a bit frugal in its execution, but the 3D-printed adapter does what it's supposed to do, and the horn is damn loud. A CNC-milled aluminum adapter would be a bit over the top. Whether mounted or held freely in the hand, the horn, thanks to manual drive, spreads insatiable fear and terror. The Aztecs used a death whistle back then and the Celts a Carnyx for psychological warfare. Now we have the tactical horn.
