Headlamps are essential for police, military, emergency services, outdoor enthusiasts, and everyone else. These versatile helpers offer excellent lighting, durability, and comfort. These lamps are sturdy light sources worn on the head. The advantage: Unlike a flashlight, hands remain free, and the (adjustable) beam follows the line of sight. The German company LUPINE specializes in high-quality, robust, and durable lights for outdoor, cycling, and professional use that defy the toughest nighttime conditions. LUPINE provided us with the Blika RX 4SC headlamp for testing.
Specifications
The Blika is a modern and powerful headlamp suitable for a variety of activities. It has an impressive luminosity of 2400 lumens and a range of up to 255 meters. Weighing approximately 220 grams, including the battery, the headlamp is very lightweight. The adjustable headband ensures comfortable wear.
The lamp head is made of CNC-milled aluminum 6061-T6, shot peened, hard-anodized, and equipped with the following light sources: 2 x Cree XM-L3; 2x XQ-E HI white; 1x XQ-E HI green; 1x XQ-E HI red. The Blika has protection classes IP 68 (waterproof) and IK 09 (impact-resistant).
The FastClick SmartCore 3.5 Ah Battery has protection classes IP 67 (waterproof) and IK 09 (impact-resistant) and a run time of 25 watt-hours. To check the capacity, simply press the button. The charging status can be indicated acoustically and visually.
The five Hyper Red status LEDs have very high luminosity and can also be used as running or brake lights. Programming is done via the keypad.
The battery can be housed in the various battery compartments of the helmets or in the admin pouches of the plate carriers.
With the FastClick Battery Helmet Holder, the FastClick SmartCore 3.5 Ah Battery can be securely attached to a variety of helmets using Velcro or 3M adhesive tape (included).
The microprocessor-controlled charger Wiesel V6 is included. This charges the 3.5 Ah battery at 110-240V in about 1.5 hours. An LED indicates the charging status.
The button on the top of the lamp head and the Bluetooth remote control are equipped with a multicolor LED that displays information about the current lighting level and the remaining battery capacity. The meaning of the light colors is explained on page 5 of the instruction manual. The top button is also used to program the Blika without using the app.
Without having to hold the lamp head in hand, the 2-Button Bluetooth Remote Control allows you to switch between these lighting levels. The remote control is practical because it can be attached to various locations, such as the wrist, handlebars, or protective vest. The button functions are variable: you can switch between lighting levels or, as we do, use one button for the main light and the other for special functions like red and green light.
With the Blika application, you can assign brightness levels and special functions to the desired button. Save settings, use activity profiles, and apply them. A well-written and understandable manual provides detailed descriptions of how to operate and program the headlamp, captured with the diffused light of the Blika.
Lighting Levels
With the top button, you can select the brighter brightness levels. The lamp has various brightness levels in white light. We programmed our Blika in 3 levels.
Level 1 as main/remote light with 26 W/2400 lumens, duration of 1 hour.
Level 2 as close light with 1 W/100 lumens, duration of 25 hours.
Level 3 as spot with 3 W/250 lumens, duration of 8 hours. Effect of the spot on a target 10 meters away.
Special Levels
A special feature of the Blika are the different light colors. In addition to the classic white light suitable for most applications, the lamp also has green and red light.
The lower button switches between red, green, spot, and reading light.
Red light is ideal for situations where high visibility is required but people and animals should not be dazzled. It is suitable for reading maps, orienting at night, preserving night vision, minimizing light profile, and signaling.

Green is ideal for outdoor use as animals, insects, and fish do not react to it. Green light is useful where a natural environment needs to be preserved. It protects night vision and avoids eye strain from LEDs.

The Blika has a diffuse light and is ideal as a reading and camping light, for example for camping, reading, or repair work.

FrontClick System
LUPINE offers the Blika with the FrontClick system. With the FrontClick quick-change system, you are as flexible as never before. You can turn the headlamp into a helmet lamp or switch the lamp head from one helmet to another in seconds and without tools. An ultra-flat mounting plate is attached to the helmet with a special 3M adhesive pad, and the lamp simply clicks in. The FrontClick mounting plate is so light and flat that it can remain on your helmet, even when you don't need your lamp right now. For bike helmets with ventilation slots, LUPINE uses its proven Velcro system. The LUPINE Velcro strap is simply pulled through the ventilation slots and the mounting plate is securely and easily attached to your helmet.
To be able to use the Blika headlamp in the tactical field of military and police or in emergency services, LUPINE offers the suitable accessories in its range.
With a WILCOX Holder all FrontClick compatible Lupine headlamps can be attached or clicked into the WILCOX system. Made of glass fiber reinforced polyamide.
For helmets equipped with Picatinny rails, LUPINE offers a suitable mount for the Blika.
Another FrontClick holder with hook and loop on the back can be attached to all hook and loop surfaces, regardless of whether it is a helmet or a plate carrier.
