Where to put all the magazines? This is a question that authorities, military, and security forces ask themselves, who need quick access to their magazines. But before the magazines disappear into a belt, chest rig, or plate carrier, they must be stored in a meaningful way - preferably already filled and ready for use. Magstore Solutions has a clever solution to offer, which we have taken a closer look at.

Basically, the company has two main products to offer: The Mag Holder and the Magsafe. But what can they do? In principle, they hold the magazine in place with clips, providing a clean storage solution and quick access. The Mag Holder model is available in the following variants:

  • 6x AR15
  • 6x AK47 / AR10
  • 8x Pistol Mag (Double stack) / 9x Pistol Mag (Single stack)

A typical application example for the Mag Holder can often be seen in pictures inside and outside of safes:For outdoor mounting, Magstore offers a kit of neodymium magnets that are supposed to hold the holder and magazines. Unfortunately, we could not test whether they hold when filled or not.

The removal of the magazines from the clamp works smoothly and quickly, you can even grab magazines from the middle.

The Pistol Mag Holder works a bit differently. Here, there are no fixed clips like in the AR15 model, but rather small spacers that can be installed in predefined slots. This allows for the use of double or single stack magazines. The removal also does not occur from the front but rather upward. The magazines are stacked upside down next to each other, with the backs facing forward. This gives you a direct view of the loading status, if the pistol magazine has this feature. The magazine is additionally held in place with a crossbar that runs along the front at the base of the magazine.

There is some space beneath the magazines for ammunition or other items.

The Magsafe option is essentially just the reinforced version of the Mag Holder. Here, a strong metal frame is placed around the magazine holder, which can then also be mounted in vehicles or other exposed locations (Of course, the Mag Holder can also be mounted, see image)As an additional safeguard to the clips, the safe also has two velcro straps to prevent magazines from falling out in case of shocks, e.g. in a vehicle. For quick removal, only the front velcro strap has to be loosened.

The straps can be fastened tightly on the side with quick-release buckles.Eyelets are available for mounting, with which the holders can be screwed in place. The Magsafe is available as a 6xAR15 or 3xAR15 variant. We tested the storage and removal of the magazines. The wall mounting was also tested and found to be practical. Overall, a solid product for secure storage.

CONCLUSION: For those who want to organize their magazines and also want quick access or easier loading of their plate carriers, etc., should take a look at the Magstore Solutions Mag Holder and the Magsafe. We find it quite practical and particularly interesting for authorities, vehicle extensions, or even sports shooters who like to have their gear organized.

The Mag Holder or Magsafe are available on request from MGC-Industries (formerly Military Gear Center). Price on request.
