REVIEW: HELIKON-TEX Guardian Dangler

"Dangler" is a very good term for the belly bag velcroed to the plate carrier and would be called "Baumler" in German. We want to take a detailed look at the Baumler from HELIKON-TEX. It is part of the Guardian Plate Carrier Set.

The Guardian Dangler consists essentially of three parts. The bag itself, the waist belt, and a MOLLE velcro adapter on which you can attach the Baumler or other MOLLE bags.

The Bag

On the underside of the bag you have two paracord loops for carabiners. On the front a velcro area and a zipper.

Behind the front zipper there is a small compartment for documents and the like.

The main compartment can be opened over 3/4 with a two-way zipper. This way you can quickly access everything inside. The interior is surprisingly well divided.

There are two cord loops and three elastic divisions on the front.

On the back side, there are two eyelets and two elastic divisions.

In the middle, there is a pocket within the pocket. The zipped compartment is for items you definitely don't want to lose. Keys are the first thing that come to mind.

The Dangler is pre-assembled on the Guardian Plate Carrier. A practical extension.

CONCLUSION: The HELIKON-TEX Guardian Dangler is a very versatile extension for plate carriers or chest rigs. It also looks very good as a standalone waist bag. Thanks to the strong internal organization, you always have a good overview of the contents.
