The assault rifle: SIG SAUER MCX Virtus

Now it's clear: SIG SAUER endures torture. The video proves it: here, an MCX Virtus is pushed to its limits. We personally didn't handle it, but we would be ready at any time to do everything with the rifle that you see here.

However, we were able to personally test the MCX during our visit to Eckernförde: The MCX has the handling of an AR15 system including its light, ergonomic operation, but goes beyond that. Especially the solution that the bolt doesn't need a buffer tube, so you can install a folding stock in different variations, is extremely appealing. Classic caliber 5.56mm - HERE in use with the police in Berlin - meets the option to use the same weapon in the heavy caliber 300 BLK - code name "Western Kalashnikov cartridge". And since SIG SAUER is a systems house, suppressors as well as optics are also from SIG SAUER. A great rifle that was also in the race for KSK and the Bundeswehr, before SIG SAUER decided to withdraw from the procurement process.

Overall, an exciting concept and a great weapon. By the way: the MCX Virtus is ready to be launched in Germany for civilian distribution. Starting in November, retailers will be supplied.
