REVIEW: Treven Tactical Gear Crusader Holster

01/14/2020By Redaktion

Somehow it's like in real life. You can buy your suits off the rack - or you go to the tailor and get a custom-made suit that fits perfectly. Kydex holsters are the bespoke suits of holsters. The new model from Treven Tactical Gear is the Crusader. We took a look at it for you.

The standard model is designed for a weapon that is standard in our country, the Glock 17. However, we used a SIRT training pistol for shooting here. The Crusader Holster is made of black Kydex, ideal and inconspicuous for everyday use.

Kydex is hot-formed, so it looks like a folded Kydex sheet with mounted spacers on the other. The magic lies in how precise and exact the workmanship is, how sharp-edged the shapes are, so that everything fits perfectly.

And that is also the magic of the Crusader, which impresses with its precision. The gun sits in this holster without a millimeter of play. Even the Glock's rail is used to promote strength in the holster. You can even turn the holster with the gun inserted and shake it, the gun won't fall out.

The new Crusader is the result of years of work with Kydex. The material is slightly thicker than that of other manufacturers, Treven uses 3mm Kydex. HERE the predecessor model is introduced - back then still under the name "Tacticool Gear".

There are holes on the back to be able to choose a mounting system - Kydex holders on the right and left or classic mounts from Safariland, Blackhawk, G-Code, S&S Precision ...

Here a modular G-Code mounting system with a leg strap is used to carry the Cruiser as a mid-ride holster on the hip ("High Ride" would be on the belt, "Low Ride" on the thigh.)

The Crusader - here in Kydex with Multicam - stands out a bit in this setup because it is clicked into a platform from which it can be detached with one hand and attached elsewhere. The folded form of the Crusader, which is clicked into the G-Code platform, can be seen nicely.

The leg strap provides a stable fit when used in combination with the belt attachment system.

Here we see different colors and options of the new Crusader Holster by Treven Tactical Gear. From Multicam, Black, Coyote to Gray, everything is possible in terms of colors or coatings for Kydex. For special requests, just inquire, much is possible.

The black Kydex variant works with 40mm belt loops, which provide a secure fit. HERE you can find the belt loops.

The holster itself is finely crafted, with all edges and corners finely finished.

At the same time, the perfect craftsmanship of the holster ensures the ideal fit. Each Kydex holster is personally handcrafted and a (precise) unique piece. HERE is the interview with Martin Treven.

CONCLUSION: Kydex holsters are ideal for perfectionists who want to give their weapon a tailored suit. The Crusader stands out for its perfect craftsmanship and delivers great performance as a holster.

HERE is the video about the Treven Gear Crusader Holster.
