A suppressor from the 3D printer - Daniel Defense Wave

07/28/2017By Redaktion

The Wave by Daniel Defense is the first commercially available suppressor that is manufactured using a 3D printing process. The advantage of this is that there are no weld seams, which are usually the weak points. The printing method is not quite like the 3D printers you may be familiar with, as in this process, powder is stacked on top of each other and repeatedly fused by a laser. This allows for a more complex pattern to be realized inside to further reduce the noise. A rifle equipped with this suppressor can be up to 40 decibels quieter. The usable caliber ranges from 5.56mm to .300 Win Mag. You can choose between two versions when purchasing. One with a Quick-Clamp and one for direct screwing. We are always excited when a new process reaches market readiness and are curious to see how the development progresses and if it can be applied to other parts as well.
