Federal Army: A bit more new assault rifle
03/29/2017By SPARTANAT crew

The Kronen-Zeitung reports further armament, then it must be true. New assault rifle for the Armed Forces, at least partially. All professional soldiers are to receive the Steyr AUG A2, in the Army it is called the StG77A2. At the moment, this rifle is used by the Jagdkommando and the only airborne unit, the Jägerbatallion 25. Above, the weapon with Aimpoint red dot sight attached, laser-light module, and Madritsch grenade launcher. Whether "all professional soldiers" means "all professional soldiers" or all cadre presence units (which consist of professional soldiers, such as the JgB25) is currently somewhat unclear. What is clear, however, is what it's all about: HERE we present the assault rifle 77A2 on SPARTANAT.

This is a somewhat older graphic from the army showing how they envision the future domestic infantryman. The reality is seen on the left. Although there are massive efforts to improve (most of the procurements were decided long before the current Minister), it is not entirely certain if everything will reach the depths of the troops.
