Only one person wears the helmet with us: us. And since American baseball caps don't fit us well - we just have a helmet face - we definitely prefer boonies. Also because they are so practical in the field with a brim everywhere and in all weather conditions. UF PRO has always been at the forefront with boonies for us. Now the third generation is here: UF PRO Striker Gen. 3 Boonie.

What has improved? Well, the starting point was already very good. This time the fabric is even better. A very light, not stiff RipStop makes this boonie a light "flap" that is extremely comfortable to wear. It can also be easily tucked away with one hand. A real adventure boonie. 

The details: two short MOLLE strips at the top, not for attaching pockets, but rather for any camouflage material. The Velcro area, on the other hand, is for an IR marker. 

There are three Velcro areas: two small ones, one on the right and one on the left side, for Ranger Eyes or small IR tabs. And the large one at the top of the cap. 

Caps can be sweaty if no air is allowed to flow through. The UF PRO Striker Gen. 3 Boonie is a well-ventilated boonie, with fine mesh making it possible. It can be found at the front of the hat. 

It can also be found at the back of the hat, with an even larger area. It feels good when it's breezy. 

All around there are double rows of loops on the boonie. If you want to incorporate camouflage material, you can play with it here. The old trapper trick is always to weave paracord in, so you always have something with you to build and repair. 

The brim is well chosen, a thumb's width. This makes the UF PRO  boonie neither too tight nor too big. 

A wire is incorporated into the brim at the front, meaning the wearer can fold the brim as they please. Good if you always want shade on your face. Or want to look funny. 

That's the interior. UF PRO  has given the boonie an Air Pac, which is the white area you see. Meshy and airy padded. If you don't like it, you can remove it with one hand, the boonie won't miss a thing. 

With the fine fabrics they have with Generation 3: the sweatband is also very soft and therefore extremely comfortable. We already have a quiet suspicion that UF PRO  wants to make you soft... 

Held on the head in wind and weather, the boonie is simply adjusted by paracord, which the wearer can adjust at the back of the head. For individual fit, there are also three loop eyelets to choose from. 

And if you want to have the brim up, you can also do that with the paracord. Looks much more daring. That's - with considerable pathos - the manufacturer's video for it.
