REVIEW: VIKTOS AlphaDawn Jacket
11/22/2022By SPARTANAT crew

When we need to go out the door, we reach for the jacket from VIKTOS. The companion through the cold day looks good both casually and in action, and we'll explain to you why.

Good cut: the AlphaDawn from VIKTOS is in tactical mainstream. These are the basic specifications for the jacket:

– Light Mini-Ripstop Polyester Chassis
– Water-repellent DWR coating
– 120g body / 100g sleeve insulation
– Wingman™ chest pockets at the top
– Gunvent™ zippers on the side arms
– Internal communication ports and cable routing
– Two cargo internal pockets

Important in winter: the hood. When it gets particularly nasty and/or we don't have a cap with us, the hood is a lifesaver in everyday life.

Also, here it's a good collar that, when not raised, securely closes everything so that the bad weather stays outside on the neck.

With the hood on, the face remains exposed and the hood moves with it. In terms of cut, the hoody reminds of an expensive Canadian manufacturer, good is just good.

Side view. Everything is cut quite close to the body, but still accommodates under layers well. The onion is a life principle in winter. From now on, you can confidently grab the AlphaDawn, it's good down to minus 12 degrees, according to the manufacturer. Of course, it depends on the layers and your temperature perception.

The chin collar fits well and the zipper pull with pulltab works smoothly. There is no zipper garage at the top edge.

Exciting are the Wingmann Pouches on the right and left, two slanted chest pockets. They are positioned so that they can still be accessed when wearing a plate carrier. A very practical idea.

There are no more surprises on the sleeve. VIKTOS logo on the right forearm. The elastic closure secures the sleeve.

Also practical are the cable loops that are guided inside parallel to the zipper.

Zippers are also available on both sides. Excitingly, they can be opened from the top and bottom. From the top, it is essentially an air conditioning system to regulate the temperature while in motion.

From the bottom, the jacket can be opened wide enough to comfortably integrate the holster.

Inside, there is an open compartment on the right and left side, where items can be stored within easy reach.

Adorned on the right side with the Gadsen Snake logo from VIKTOS. Do it with style.

View of the inner lining. It is pleasantly warm.

And if you're feeling cold, just put it on and zip the jacket all the way up to the top.

And this is the logo on the jacket.

And finally: the entire jacket from the back. We find the fabric very amusing because it is ripstop and has a matte-glossy finish. Looks very cool.

CONCLUSION: An everyday jacket in a very pleasing, classic cut. And all in the popular VIKTOS style. The AlphaDawn is a companion through the winter, where you can't go wrong.

The VIKTOS Alphadawn Jacket is available directly at S4 SUPPLIES for 189 euros. The colors Ranger Green, Gray, and Black are available.
