REVIEW: GERBER Prybrid-Utility Multifunction Tool

There are still EDC tools that claim to be all-rounders, capable of doing everything. GERBER has presented its Prybrid-Utility multifunctional tool, which is primarily one thing: a stylish package cutter.

This is what the item looks like, with a man's hand for scale. Here are the key details:

As a package cutter, the Prybrid is fully functional and also uses standard blades that can be easily replaced. You always want to be sharp. But there are supposed to be more functions that enhance utility. The bottle opener is certainly the next best thing. Who doesn't always get thirsty?

We can already discuss the namesake pry bar on the Prybrid. For levering out LEGO bricks, sure. The mini-pry bar is simply handicapped when it comes to prying out nails. And as a screwdriver, this "multitool" is not great either. Wire cutter? Well...

Cutting package strings? It works great again. The notch in the handle ensures that you quickly reach the sharp blade.

The Prybrid does not have a clip to be attached to a pocket, which is somewhat surprising. It might be a hazard in the pants pocket. However, it fits perfectly in the watch pocket of jeans and is always within reach there. It may also sit nicely on a desk. HERE it is presented by GERBER.

CONCLUSION: Small multitools are sometimes overwhelmed by what is attributed to them, the Prybrid is a solid and good-looking package cutter with a few improvised tools that we hopefully never need.
