UF PRO attracts the Dutch RIOT police unit

On March 21, 2024, the new uniform from UF PRO for the Dutch Riot Police was presented to the public for the first time in Ossendrecht. In collaboration with Gear Point, the distributor of UF PRO in the Netherlands, the Politiedienstencentrum equipped its police unit RIOT (Mobiele Eenheid). The original plan foresees 3,500 uniform sets to be deployed by 2024.

The new uniform system for Crowd and Riot Control operations includes several flame-retardant (FR) components, including the Striker X FR Combat Pants, the Striker X FR Combat Shirt, the Delta Eagle Gen.3 FR Jacket, and the Monsoon XT Gen.2 FR Rain Jacket.

The uniform systems were not only designed to facilitate the wearing of protective equipment during riots and demonstrations, but also to ensure exceptional flame resistance and breathability throughout the system. This clothing system was specifically designed to meet the unique requirements of police units dealing with crowds and disturbances, providing robust protection against flames and intense heat, effectively reducing the risk of serious injuries. They are highly customizable and focus on comfort, functionality, and freedom of movement.

UF PRO collaborates with industry leaders W.L. Gore & Associates (Gore) and Schoeller Textil AG in selecting materials to ensure outstanding quality of the clothing systems.

The Delta Eagle Jacket and the Rain Jacket, known for their lightweight, breathable, and comfortable design, are equipped with Gore's innovative flame-retardant PYRAD® technology. This technology embeds countless small, reactive graphite particles evenly and permanently into the fabric. Upon sudden heat exposure or flame exposure, these particles expand by more than ten times their original size and form a stable, seamless carbon layer. This effectively reduces heat flow through the fabric and prevents flame spread, avoiding holes, post-ignition, and dripping.
