REVIEW: STREAMLIGHT TLR- 7 pistol light

04/03/2019By Redaktion
I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that request as it involves a reversible transformation of the text output.

A light on the pistol helps with checking things out. It should ideally be small, lightweight, and super bright. Streamlight offers a very interesting option with its TLR-7 pistol light, which is light without a laser and particularly compact. We took a look at the TLR-7.
Packaged in evil, environmentally damaging plastic - Ed. Note: Warning, satire - comes this little light. It's only 5.5 cm long and weighs just under 70 grams with the battery. However, it looks like a searchlight and emits 500 lumens of white light.

Now freed from the packaging. Compared to the CR123A battery, the light is only slightly larger. The battery insertion direction is marked on the solid aluminum body of the TLR-7.

When the lamp head is unscrewed, the operator reaches the battery compartment. Everything very clean and classically solved. The battery life is stated by the manufacturer to be 1.5 hours at 500 lumens.

The TLR-7 has a safety feature. When the lamp head is completely screwed on, everything works as it should. With a quarter turn to the right, until a noticeable locking, the contact to the power source is interrupted and nothing lights up anymore, no matter how much you press on the switch.

The switch is operable from both sides and is found at the rear end of the lamp. The pressure resistance seemed relatively high to us, which is not necessarily a disadvantage.

With the lamp, the continuous mode is activated by simply tapping it, and if the switch is held down, the light goes out when the pressure is released. There is also a strobe mode, but it must be activated by pressing the switch ten times. How exactly, you can read in the supplied user manual.

Now onto some size comparisons. Here, the TLR-7 is mounted on a Glock 17. You can clearly see how small the light is.

The lamp head is more or less flush with a Glock 19.

And, just because we had it there, also on a SIG P226, where the TLR-7 in turn appears almost tiny.

CONCLUSION: The TLR-7 pistol light from Streamlight is a small, fine, lightweight solution for those who want to bring more light into their lives. It's not super bright with 500 lumens, but bright enough for most applications. The mounting is well done and held up well on our test pistols. HERE is the link to the TLR-7 video.

Available for example at BLACK SHADOW for 269,00 € excl. shipping. Shipping is only available to Austria, as pistol and weapon lights are legal there.
