FTCS - NRP 2.0

The charging handle on an AK is okay but can certainly be improved with a grip knob. The NRP 2.0 comes from our Polish friends at FTCS. We will tell you today what makes it better than the others.

The cocking handle knob from FTCS weighs 21 g with screws and makes quick cycling on the AK much easier. Compared to all other models on the open market, this knob is secured with three screws. This has the advantage that it fits really well on all AK variants. For those who didn't know, depending on the AK manufacturer and variant, the charging handle can have a slightly different geometry.

The installation is simple, just slide it onto the standard charging handle and tighten the screws. We removed the tape before installing the NRP. It was from the knob we used before which did not fit properly.

The assembly illustration shows the mounting sequence in detail. It's best to use threadlocker as well, so that everything stays rock solid secure.

We have now fired over 500 rounds with the knob, and everything has held up without any issues. Cycling the bolt is a true pleasure.

Conclusion

The NRP 2.0 from FTCS is a fantastic upgrade for any AK. The installation is simple, and it holds rock solid. Thanks to the textured surface, the charging handle now offers very good grip. Quick reloading is significantly easier with this charging handle knob in place.
