We have already introduced one possibility, actually it was two, for preventing the wobbling of the cover cap on the PVS 14 night vision device. Today we want to show you a completely different approach, namely replacing the cap completely with scopecovers.
This is quite simple and can also be done for the eyepiece. You just need the appropriate scopecovers. After a long search on the internet, we found the right sizes: 07 Objective for the lens and 14 EYE for the eyepiece. These covers should be available at various retailers.
Simply slide on the lens cover and you're done. Life can be that simple. Of course, you can now remove the lens cover secured with a lanyard.
Repeat the same process for the eyepiece. Initially, the scopecover didn't fit for us because it was a bit too tight. But this problem can be easily solved with a hairdryer. Just heat it evenly and then the new scopecover should fit over the eyepiece. The same applies, of course, if the lens cover is too tight.
Push the button! And - pop, the cover opens. That's how we like it.
The covers are available on Amazon, for example: www.amazon.de, or at your trusted retailer for around €13 each.
