One of our favorite special units are the "Special Operations Weathermen Teams" of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). These heavily armed weather fairies have been in operation since 1917, the beginning of military aviation, and predict the weather on-site during missions. We just have to say: you can recognize them by the balloon. Unfortunately, they have now been renamed to "Special Reconnaissance" and their range of tasks has also been expanded. Whether this has to do with climate change - we do not know. And we remain fans of the Weathermen at heart.
