WNDSN now also available in brass

11/13/2020By Redaktion

Brass, a material used since prehistory, is a classic. Due to its malleability, durability, antimicrobial properties, and visual impact, brass stands out from more modern materials. WNDSN consistently turns to brass in developing new products, and this time it introduces the Telemeter Dogtags.

WNDSN's motto is "The best tool is the one you have with you," and they mean it literally when it comes to the dog tag. The Brass Dog Tag Telemeter is the latest addition to WNDSN's range of rangefinding instruments. The Brass Dog Tag Telemeter retains the classic format, sized according to specifications and in line with current US dog tag standards. The WNDSN Brass Dog Tag Telemeter feels good in the hand and weighs 33 g. This telemeter is now available in brass and will become a heirloom for the next generation of explorers.

The WNDSN Brass Dog Tag Telemeter fixes the distance to the measuring scale by the cord worn around the neck, keeping the scales at a fixed distance from the eye for precise measurements. The simple instructions are as follows:

Find an object of a known size at the distance you want to measure, and determine the angular size, which you can then convert into distance.

The new WNDSN Brass Dog Tag Telemeter features two sets of scales. On the left side, a standard angle scale with a maximum of 10° in 0.2° increments, and on the right side, a special multiplication scale that allows the user — with a known object size — to directly multiply the value for distance.

Other design elements and features include:

  1. Both sets of scales feature extra-long markings to be visible even with "suppressors".
  2. The dog tag itself contains instructional symbols to provide a self-contained tool.
  3. The back is intentionally left blank to either wear the Dog Tag Telemeter on the back of regular dog tags or to add additional information, hook-and-loop fasteners, or marking elements at the discretion of the user.

WNDSN Telemeters are pocket-sized distance and altitude nomographs developed in the WNDSN Applied Science Lab. These instruments combine a thousand years of experience in civil engineering, surveying, navigation, and astronomy into durable, high utility low-tech instruments that can be used anywhere and operate independently of external modern technologies.

In extreme conditions, or situations where laser rangefinders fail or lead to errors, WNDSN Telemeters can be used as a primary instrument or as a tool for "a second opinion" to verify values obtained by other means, or in difficult situations when other methods fail or are not available.

The WNDSN Brass Dog Tag Telemeter is manufactured in Germany. Its scales are laser engraved and precisely cut in 3 mm untreated brass. The WNDSN trademark is located on the device. Scientific notations are engraved and supplemented by a printed guide in English and German. The Wndsn Dog Tag Rangefinder in Brass is available directly in their shop for 85.00 euros (regularly 95.00 euros).
