To be precise, we dealt with the AeroPress Go Coffee Maker Set. This one is even more compact than other AeroPress coffee makers. Everything you need is included in the set except for water and coffee. The advantage of the AeroPress is that it's really simple and quick. It doesn't matter if you use boiling or cold water, you will always end up with a very drinkable coffee.
First, the special filter paper needs to be inserted into the filter basket. A convenient filter storage box is included.
There is also a pack of 350 filters included. The filters can be easily repurchased. We found reusable metal filters in the depths of the internet, but haven't experimented with them yet. In case of emergency, normal filter bags can probably be cut and don't forget the (unused) women's stockings.
The next step is to screw the filter basket onto the polypropylene body.
Next, you should fill one leveled spoon of coffee powder per cup. We followed this at the beginning, but almost had a heart attack. So either more water or less coffee powder. Or you're just already accustomed to caffeine.
Now add the water. It doesn't matter if it's hot or cold. Both work without any problems. With cold water, you should let it steep for a little over a minute, otherwise just a good 30 seconds.
A convenient fill level indicator is printed on the AeroPress, depending on the number of cups. It's best to experiment with the coffee-water ratio, as tastes vary.
By the way, this is the included stirring stick.
Finally, insert the plunger and press down evenly. In our opinion, the funniest part of the whole preparation process. Pressing down is quite firm, so don't be surprised, that's how it should be.
At the end, after around two minutes of total setup and preparation time, you have won the black gold that will get you through the day and night. And it tastes excellent too.
The coffee grounds are simply pressed out using a filter. Of course, you have to unscrew the portafilter first. A nice tab forms with hot water.
In our video, you can see the tab well, as we used hot water here.
Finally, rinse and dry the plunger and cup, and store everything back. Thanks to the compact size of around 10 x 11 x 18 cm, the AeroPress is always ready. Of course, you still need a coffee grinder or coffee powder. If you want, you can further reduce the AeroPress set, as most people will carry a field cup.
CONCLUSION: The AeroPress delivers on its promise. Simple to use, it prepares delicious coffee wherever you want. Our new companion in the backpack when heading into the wild, because we're not wild and don't want to miss out on good coffee.
You can find the AeroPress Go Coffee Maker at TACWRK in a set for 42.90 euros.
